Dear PS24 Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Public School 24! We are so excited to welcome both our returning and new families back to our PS24 community. We hope you had a restful and joyful summer, and we look forward to partnering with you for another successful school year.

At PS24, we believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success. When families and schools work together, children feel supported, confident, and empowered to thrive both academically and socially. Your involvement, encouragement, and communication make a tremendous difference in your child’s educational journey.

This year, our focus will continue to be on ensuring that all students, including English Language Learners (ELLs) and Students with Disabilities (SWDs), have access to strong grade-level instruction and meaningful learning experiences every day. Teachers will continue to provide engaging lessons with clear support, opportunities for student discussion, and regular checks for understanding to help every child grow and succeed.

Families play an important role in this work. You can support your child by:
• Encouraging daily attendance and punctuality
• Reading with your child each night and discussing their learning
• Monitoring homework and online learning platforms such as Waggle
• Maintaining communication with your child’s teacher
• Attending family workshops, conferences, celebrations, and school events
• Reinforcing kindness, respect, and positive habits at home

At PS24, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child and family feels valued. We will continue to prioritize not only academic growth, but also students’ social-emotional well-being, creativity, and sense of belonging.
