Dear PS 24 Families and Staff,
As we close another wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for everything you have done to make this year so special. Together, we celebrated successes, worked through challenges, and created a school community where our children could learn, grow, and feel a true sense of belonging. That is only possible because of the partnership between home and school, and I am incredibly grateful for each of you. Watching our students grow this year has been one of the greatest joys. They have learned new skills, built friendships, discovered new interests, and shown kindness and resilience every step of the way. I could not be prouder of all they have accomplished.
As summer begins, I hope everyone takes time to slow down, enjoy family and friends, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Visit a park, explore your neighborhood, take a trip to the library, laugh together, and enjoy the simple moments that make summer so special.
While summer is a time to relax, it is also important to keep those young minds active. I encourage every student to read for at least 20 minutes each day, spend a little time on Waggle each day, play board games or math games with family, practice math facts, and complete their summer homework. A little learning each day goes a long way and helps students return to school feeling confident and ready for the year ahead.
As a community, one of the things that makes PS 24 so special is the way we care for one another. I hope our students continue to show kindness, respect, and compassion wherever they go this summer. Those values are just as important outside our school walls as they are inside them.
Thank you for another incredible year. It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve as the principal of PS 24. I wish each of you a summer filled with good health, happiness, laughter, and time with the people you love. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, refreshed, recharged, and ready for another amazing school year.
Have a safe and wonderful summer!
Warmly,
Maria Diaz
