Dear PS24 Family,

On behalf of the PS24 Family, I am happy to welcome you to the 2022-23 school year! I consider myself fortunate to be the principal of such a wonderful school. We have the most dedicated staff that continues to enrich the learning experience for our students and families.

The year will be filled with numerous learning and fun opportunities for our students and families. We recognize that to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. Please support us in ensuring that the students are using what they are learning in school at home. The students should review what they have learned in school, read daily on MYON, free-write about experiences they have encountered, play math games with the family, create DIY projects and go to bed at a reasonable time.

As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to engage with the families throughout the year. We are a community school and encourage you to invite community members to all of our school events.

At PS 24 our parents/guardians are our partners in helping to provide the best education possible. We are expecting that students are at school every day, on time and ready to learn. Children will need absence notes upon returning after an illness. With everyone’s commitment, we are hopeful that our students will achieve great academic success because of high attendance rates.

Please support us in going green. Our notifications will be sent via the mediums below. Please log into:

  • our website PS24BROOKLYN.com for our calendar of events

  • check in with our School Spirit Days flier

  • DOJO on a daily basis for day to day announcements

  • Check in with your child’s teacher during Parent Engagement time on Tuesdays after school

We look forward to a productive and rewarding school year! You are welcome to come in and talk with our Parent Coordinator, Assistant Principals, any other staff or myself.

Respectfully,

Maria Diaz
